Ubaid Hameed Shah

Dr. Ubaid Shah is an Australian-trained Consultant Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist at American Hospital Dubai. After completing his pediatric training (MD Pediatrics), Dr. Shah undertook extensive specialist training in the field of pediatric neurology leading to the award of Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). He completed George Gregan Fellowship in Pediatric Epilepsy and is also an alumnus of The San Servolo Epilepsy School, Venice. Dr. Shah is a leading and well-respected Consultant Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist from Australia. Dr. Shah provides clinical consultation for a broad range of neurological conditions. He has a special interest in childhood and adolescent epilepsy with an emphasis on difficult-to-control epilepsy. Dr. Shah has expertise in the evaluation of children with refractory epilepsy to determine the best treatment based on underlying causes. He evaluates children and adolescents for consideration for the ketogenic diet, vagal nerve stimulation, and epilepsy surgery. He has expertise in Pre-surgical evaluation of children for possible curative epilepsy surgery including Multi-modal image processing, invasive EEG monitoring, and Robotic Stereo-EEG. In addition to distinguishing himself in the academic arena, Dr. Shah has presented his research findings at national and international conferences. He is currently part of many research projects intending to identify the underlying causes of epilepsy and the ways to achieve the best long-term outcome. Dr. Shah is the former Director of the Australia and New Zealand Child Neurology Society (ANZCNS) which is a collaborative group of medical professionals working to advance the science of pediatric neurology and advocate for improved care for young people with neurological disorders. Dr. Shah is a firm believer that parents must be an integral part of the decision-making process when it comes to deciding on treatment choices for their children.
