Fetal medicine

About Fetal Medicine:

Fetal medicine, also known as maternal-fetal medicine (MFM), focuses on managing health conditions/complications of a mother and a fetus before, during, and immediately after pregnancy. The high-risk pregnancies are assessed and managed by Fetal Medicine Specialists – obstetricians or gynecologists with additional training and board certification in high-risk pregnancy care.

Most pregnancies follow a fairly uninterrupted course, without any complications. However, some women experience medical complications that may put their health, their baby’s health at risk. Such pregnancies are termed “high-risk” pregnancies.

Obstetricians and Gynecologists at American Hospital Dubai provide a full spectrum of services, which include multi-fetal pregnancy care, consultations for recurrent miscarriages, genetic counseling, prenatal diagnosis and fetal therapy, preterm delivery care, and treatments for a range of other medical and obstetrical disorders during pregnancy.
