Dr Vinod Hegade is a UK board certified Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with over 14 years of experience in NHS. Most recently, he has worked as a Consultant Hepatologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, UK. Dr Hegade graduated with MBBS degree from RGUHS, Bangalore (India) before going to the UK to pursue post graduate medical training. His higher specialist training in gastroenterology and hepatology was in the West Yorkshire region. He did a research fellowship and studied cholestatic pruritus for PhD thesis at Newcastle University. He then completed transplant hepatology training in Freeman Hospital, Newcastle, followed by an advanced ERCP fellowship in Leeds. Dr Hegade received triple accreditation in hepatology, gastroenterology and general (internal) medicine in 2018 and was appointed as a consultant in Sheffield in 2018. He then moved to Leeds to work as a Hepatologist with specialist interest in liver transplantation and ERCP. In addition to his passion for gastroenterology, his main clinical interests are autoimmune liver diseases (AIH, PBC, and PSC), liver transplantation and biliary endoscopy (ERCP).
