Dr. Osama graduated from Tripoli University then traveled to the United Kingdom for training and higher education in pediatrics and child health. In the UK he was trained in leading teaching hospitals and ultimately was awarded the certification of completion of training in pediatric (CCT) with Neonatal sub-specialty (CSST) in 2008. He is a full member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health in London, a member of the British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM). Before relocating to UAE, he was practicing as a consultant in Neonatology at Sunderland Royal Hospital, where he was heavily involved in running neonatal developmental clinics, Bayley assessment clinic, neonatal renal clinic, and teaching junior doctors and medical students from Newcastle University. He is regularly present topics related to my sub-specialty at national and international seminars and conferences.

I have acquired advanced skills and knowledge in neonatal medicine by working in Regional and sub-regional Level 3 neonatal units, practicing evidence-based medicine, and attending national /regional specialty meetings. I am confident in resuscitating sick newborn babies including 23 weeks gestations. I am experienced in leading and coordinating work in level 3 neonatal units and I have experience working as a locum consultant neonatologist. I am able to perform, interpret and formally report Neonatal Cranial Ultrasound Scans including the required measurements in the assessment of ventricular dilatation and doppler assessment in newborn babies with HIE.
  • Familiar with various ventilation modalities including conventional mechanical ventilation, HFOV, Nitric Oxide, Non-Invasive Ventilation, and long-term ventilatory support.
