Dr. Waseem Ahmad Raja, MRCP (Ireland), MRCP (UK), FRCP (Edin), has joined the American Hospital Dubai as a Rheumatologist. Dr.Raja, who is of Irish/Pakistani descent, completed his basic medical training from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, Pakistan in 1996, before relocating to Ireland, where he completed his basic and higher specialist training .He practised in Ireland for more than 10 years.
He joins the American Hospital Dubai from Bantry General Hospital in County Cork, Ireland, where he was a Consultant Physician & Rheumatologist, and where he ran Internal Medicine and Rheumatology clinics and an acute Medical Assessment Unit, as well as supervised junior colleagues, and was actively involved in clinical governance.
Dr. Raja has substantial teaching experience (CME) and has also authored several notable publications on rheumatology. He holds a number of Certifications including Specialty Certificate in Rheumatology awarded by British Society for Rheumatology and Royal College of Physicians (UK) , European League against Rheumatism (EULAR) Certificate in Rheumatic Diseases awarded by EULAR standing committee on Education and Training and is a member of several distinguished professional associations including Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of the Edinburgh (UK), Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom. Dr. Raja also holds EU Specialist Certification in Internal Medicine (Certificate of Specialist Doctor) and Specialist Certification in General Internal Medicine (Ireland).
Dr. Malgorzata Hanczyc completed her US Board Certification in Internal Medicine (1993) and Rheumatology (1997 and re-certified in 2008). She did her basic medical training from the Wroclaw Medical School, Poland in 1989.
Prior to joining us, Dr. Hanczyc was in private practice at the Rheumatic Disease Clinic, Wroclaw, Poland since 2013 as a Rheumatologist. From 2010 to 2013, she was in private practice at the Central Utah Clinic, Utah, USA. From 2006 to 2010, she worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
