An honor graduate from Cairo University’s Medical School in Egypt, Dr. Hatem Moussa is an expert in robotics assisted laparoscopic general surgery. He performs colon and rectal surgeries in different techniques including, open and laparoscopic.
Dr. Moussa’s medical forays upon his university graduation led him be a lecturer in the field of medical microbiology and immunology at Cairo University where he was a faculty staff in the university hospitals.
Dr. Moussa moved to New York in 1999 and worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow for one year followed by a surgical internship at the Staten Island University Hospital in New York, then he completed his surgical training at the State University of New York in Brooklyn, New York, one of the most challenging surgical residency programs in the area then ultimately, a chief residency at that same medical institution.
Dr. Moussa started his academic career as an assistant professor of surgery at SUNY Downstate, Brooklyn, NY., here he remained over the course of the next few years. His career went on to flourish in Florida where he served as the director and founder of coastal surgical associates in Northwest Florida. He as well founded the first thyroid clinic in the area after he has performed an advanced training in minimally invasive and robotic endocrine surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans treating thyroid and parathyroid diseases.
Dr. Moussa currently is a clinical proctor and national trainer for robotics surgical procedures, and one of the most respected surgeons in laparoscopic and robotic surgeries. He is also a clinical faculty and preceptor for Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Moussa has accumulated accolades and honors that include an award for Best Project in Surgery from New York’s Lutheran Medical Center and America’s top surgeon award in 2013.
Dr. Imran Haq, MD, is American Board Certified in Surgery. He is also a fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK, the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons.
Dr. Haq performs advanced laparoscopic surgery including Robotic Surgery and specializes in weight loss surgery, executing routine gastric bypass, gastric sleeve and lap band operations with proficiency and ease. He holds a wealth of knowledge and experience in general surgery, namely, breast, colorectal surgery, oncologic surgery and treatment for hernias and other complex abdominal and pelvic conditions.
After graduating from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, Dr. Haq went on to the UK where he continued his higher surgical training and obtained FRCS. He later moved to the USA and subsequently completed his surgical residency at the leading medical institutions of New York and New Jersey, attaining fellowships including Trauma & Surgical Critical Care and Organ Transplant Surgery.
Prior to joining the American Hospital Dubai, Dr. Haq was practicing at the Inspira Medical Center in New Jersey, where he was actively involved in teaching surgery residents and served as an attending General, Vascular, Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon.
Dr. Haq believes in giving individual attention to all his patients, consistently providing them with state-of-the-art surgical expertise in a compassionate and caring environment. Additionally, he ensures that all surgery programs cater for every need, providing diligent care from the very first consultation until all achievements concerning the goals and objectives of his patients are met.
Dr. Haq has vast experience in Breast Cancer, Lumps, Pain, Lymph Nodes, Sentinel Biopsies, Axillary masses and conditions, and also nipple-related conditions.
Prof. Dr. Frank-Martin Haecker is a German and Swiss-board-certified Pediatric Surgeon who specializes in pediatric urology and the conservative and surgical treatment of chest wall deformities.
Prof. Dr. Haecker attended medical school at the University of Bochum and the University of Tuebingen, Germany, where he received his medical degree in 1990. He served as a junior staff member at the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the University Hospital of Tuebingen and at the Department of General Surgery at the Hospital of Baden-Baden.
Prior to joining American Hospital Dubai, Prof. Dr. Haecker worked as a Consultant at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Switzerland in St. Gallen and the Schmerzklinik in Basel. He also served as an Attending Surgeon at the Department of Pediatric Surgery in Basel’s University Children’s Hospital. In 2005, he started a specialized outpatient clinic for pediatric urology and later a specialized outpatient clinic for chest wall deformities. From 2014 to 2016, he was Senior Consultant at the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the University Hospital of Freiburg, Germany.
In parallel with his work in pediatric surgery, Prof Dr. Haecker is a member of several national and international professional societies and a founding member of the CWIG (Chest Wall International Group), which he currently presides over.
