Dr. Maroun El Khoury completed his basic medical training from Saint Joseph University School of Medicine Beirut, Lebanon in 1999. He completed his US Board Certification in Internal Medicine (2003) and both Oncology & Hematology in 2006. Prior to joining us, Dr. El Khoury was working since July, 2006 as an Attending Physician Hematology/Oncology at the Great River Hematology and Oncology Iowa USA. He also served as Medical Director & Chief of Medicine at the same place and co-directed the hospice and palliative care program. He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and American Academy of Pain Management.

Dr. Faraz Khan

Dr. Faraz Khan completed his basic medical training in 1997 from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan. He is triple US Board Certified in Internal Medicine (2002), Medical Oncology (2005) and Hematology (2005). Prior to joining us, since 2005, Dr. Khan worked as a Consultant Medical Oncologist/Hematologist at PEI Cancer Treatment Center, Charlottetown, PEI, Canada, where he also served as a primary investigator for the clinical trials in Hematologic diseases. He was a member of Association of Hemophilia Clinic Directors of Canada and directed the PEI Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorder Clinic.

Dr. Tarek Dufan

Dr. Tarek Dufan completed his US Board Certification in Radiation Oncology (2011) and Canadian Board Certification in Radiation Oncology (2009), Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Canada. He has fellowship Degree in anatomy and cell biology from university of Saskatchewan – Canada and Master degree from UK; He did his basic medical training from Al-Fateh University, Tripoli, Libya in 1999.

Prior to joining us, Dr. Dufan was working since August 2014 as a Cancer Liaison Physician at Sanford Bismarck Health Center, North Dakota, USA. Since July 2010, Dr. Dufan worked as Medical Director at Bismarck Cancer Center, North Dakota, USA. Dr. Dufan also worked as a Senior Consultant Radiation Oncologist, since July 2009, at Bismarck Cancer Center, Sanford Bismarck Health Center and CHI St. Alexius Health Center, North Dakota, USA.

Dr. Dufan is an active member of the American Society of Brachytherapy, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Radiology, and American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.

Dr. Abdul Hafeez Siddiqui

With over ten years of experience in the Pediatrics field, Dr. Abdul Hafez Siddiqui is a Consultant and Pediatric Hematologist and Oncologist. With a degree from the Dow Medical College in Pakistan and certifications from the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, Dr. Siddiqui is one of the most respected physicians in his field.

Throughout his illustrious medical career, Dr. Siddiqui has worked in some of the most notable hospitals and medical centers in the world, such as the University of South Alabama, the Hemophilia Treatment Centre in Mobile, Alabama, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago in Illinois. In addition, Dr. Siddiqui has received prestigious accolades that include the “Best Lecture of the Year” award from the University of South Alabama in 2013 as well as the Children Hospital of Michigan’s “Wolf Zuelzer Fellow Research Award” in 2010. Dr. Carmelo Barbaccia

Dr. Carmelo Barbaccia did his basic medical training from the Universita’ di Palermo, Italy in 1990.  He completed his specialization in Otolaryngology in 1994 from Palermo University. Then he moved to the Head and Neck Department of the National Cancer Institute of Milan in 2004.  He is registered and licensed by GMC in 2004.

Prior to joining us, Dr. Barbaccia worked as a Head and Neck Consultant at Medway Maritime Hospital, Kent, UK in 2004. He also worked at Queen Victoria Hospital, West Sussex, UK since 2007 as ENT Consultant. Dr. Barbaccia’s special interest include Thyroid and Salivary gland surgery, neck lump and any general head and neck diseases.

Dr. Samer Obeidat

Dr. Samer Obeidat, MBBS, MRCS(Ed), FRCS(Urol), FEBU is a highly accomplished Consultant Urological Surgeon with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Fluent in both Arabic and English, Dr. Obeidat is British Board Certified with outstanding clinical and operative skills. He practices his specialty with the utmost care, expertise and compassion, taking a personalized approach towards medicine.

Dr. Obeidat areas of expertise lie in Urological cancers, including a subspecialty interest in renal cancer. His interests span across many specialist domains in urology, including but not limited to surgical management of upper tract pathology via laparoscopic and open surgery, stone management and surgery, minimal access surgery and endoscopic procedures and various penoscrotal procedures. Dr. Obeidat also possesses training in Robotic Surgery in partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty and prostatectomies.

Graduating from the prestigious Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2004, Dr. Obeidat joined Mersey Deanery in Liverpool, UK as a speciality trainee, gaining invaluable experience and knowledge in the urology and uro-oncology field.

His impressive career has been based in Liverpool, UK, having most recently worked as one of Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals’ highly skilled consultant urological surgeons. In addition, he was one of their principle laparoscopic surgeons and an honorary lecturer at University of Liverpool. Having completed fellowships at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and of the European board of Urology, Dr. Samer Obeidat is an excellent and valuable addition to American Hospital Dubai.


Dr. Reinhold Zimmermann

Dr. Reinhold Zimmermann obtained his German Board Certification in Urology (FACHARZT) in 2004. He did his basic medical training from Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany in 1996. Prior to joining us, Dr. Zimmermann worked, since 2009, as Consultant Urologist at Paracelsus Medical University, Salzburg, Germany. Since 2014, he was appointed as the Vice Head of Department of Urology, Paracelsus Medical University, Salzburg. From 2008 to 2009, he worked as a Consultant Urologist at Elisabethinen Hospital Linz, Austria.

Dr. Jin-Yul Lee

Dr. Jin-Yul Lee is a highly experienced Neurosurgeon. He covers all aspects of neuro-spinal surgery and has successfully performed a large number of cervical and lumbar spinal surgeries including minimally invasive techniques. He has special interest in brain tumor surgeries using the latest techniques.

After obtaining his medical degree from the School of Medicine, Free University of Berlin, Germany in 1990, Dr. Lee worked at the Institute of Neuropathology, University of Berlin for two years. He then did his residency in Neurosurgery from 92-99 at the University of Cologne, Germany. After completing his specialized training in Neurosurgery, he worked at the Department of Neurosurgery, University of Cologne as a faculty member from 2000 to 2006. Dr. Lee then spent three years from 2006 -2009 at the Crosby Neurosurgical Laboratories, Department of Neurosurgery, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. He then returned back to Germany in Dec. 2009 to join the Department of Neurosurgery, University of Wurzburg, Germany till Feb. 2014 when he joined the staff at the American Hospital Dubai.

Dr. Tiernan Byrnes

Dr. Tiernan Byrnes qualified from Edinburgh University in 1997 and trained in St George’s, King’s College Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. His Postgraduate Research Thesis (MD) was awarded by The University of London. He obtained his Neurosurgery Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons (Ireland) in 2009 and completed his CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training), UK in 2010.

After a Complex Spinal Fellowship in The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore) and The National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square) he worked in St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospital,  with a specialist interest in Complex Spine Surgery including: Spinal Trauma, Spinal Tuberculosis  and Spinal Tumour. Prior to joining us, Dr. Byrnes worked within the Private sector, since 2013, as a Consultant Neurosurgeon with The One Health Group, U.K.

Dr. Byrnes is a highly skilled Spinal Neurosurgeon with broad expertise. All procedures are performed microsurgically with minimally invasive techniques. His ethos is “Maximum Benefit for Minimum Risk” achieved by careful clinical and neurological assessment and close attention to patients’ expectations.
