The Heart & Vascular Center at the American Hospital Dubai is a regional center of excellence for cardiology.
The Cardiac Perfusionist will be responsible to performs all duties of Perfusionist (pre, during and post Cardiac Surgery). This includes the selection, set-up, management and operation of mechanical devices in Cardiac Surgery such as the Heart-Lung Machine, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Cell saver and Centrifugal Pump and Coronary Graft Patency machine (Medistim). Documentation of Perfusion Records and coordination for maintenance of the equipment is an integral part of this role. Will also provide service to the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
Education and Experience:
To perform CT examinations within the units/clinics and the Medical Imaging Department of the American Hospital .To be part of all procedures and processes that allow the Medical Imaging Department in providing a high standard of service and patient care by assessing, monitoring, participating and assisting in the daily administration duties, infection control /risk management, quality improvement and departmental / hospital wide in-services
Independently performs all general and specialized Radiographic procedures. Mammography, Interventional Fluoroscopy Radiography and Portable Radiography, C-arm examinations in accordance with hospital and departmental guidelines. Performs procedures which include instructing and manipulating patients, selecting techniques and calibrating equipment to obtain high quality images. Reviews the request and previous studies before performing the examination. Works closely with the Radiologists to cater for all procedural needs and requirements Schedules patients for Imaging examinations if required. Evaluates the nature of critical and emergency procedures and arranges patient priorities to accommodate them in conjunction with Radiologist instructions. Observes radiation safety measures / protocols at all times. Perform any additional duties as required, administration duties assists with filing, clerical and scheduling wherever possible. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, human physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in positioning and X-ray technique. Possess, use and maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety.
Assists pharmacists in providing quality pharmaceutical care in accordance with U.A.E regulations, standards of JCAHO, and established departmental procedures. Specifically helping to coordinate unit dose distribution and outpatient dispensing activities.
The primary function is to perform all Ultrasound examinations within the units/clinics and the Medical Imaging Department of the American Hospital/Clinics.To be part of all procedures and processes that allow the Ultrasound division of the Medical Imaging Department, in providing a high standard of service and patient care by assessing,monitoring,participating and assisting in the daily administration duties, infection control /risk management, quality improvement and departmental/Hospital wide in-services.
To provide the cardiopulmonary clinical services to the neonatal, pediatric and adult patients in accordance with the diagnostic objectives established by the attending Physicians, the CPD Director, the CPD Medical Director, the Chief Operating Officer, the Pulmonary Consultants and the AHD / CPD Respiratory Care clinical guidelines and policy procedures. To competently perform a safe and therapeutic respiratory care services as clinically indicated for the all patients in order to achieve efficacious, accurate and quality results as per evidence based clinical guidelines and policy established by the department and the Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) requirement. To provide a holistic and compassionate patient care, maintain patient advocacy and offer excellent customer service and professionalism
Facilitates development and rehabilitation of patients with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.
Conducts a functional assessment and physical evaluation of patients self referred or referred from a physician. Plans and administers physical therapy programs for patients to maximize function, relieve pain and prevent disability.
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS
Degree/Diploma Authenticated by UAE Embassy in country from which certificate is issued

Higher Secondary School certificate
Copy of current license home country & country of professional practice
Recent 3-5 years post qualification experience in a Hospital sitting essential
BLS/ACLS certificate desired
