Victoria Paynter

I qualified with a BSc in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southampton in 2013 and immediately took up a full-time position at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust as a rotational OT. Rotations included acute neuro, paediatric orthopaedics, surgery, end of life cancer care and medicine. In 2016 I moved to Dubai and joined Dubai Center for Special Needs as an OT working with children and young adults with learning difficulties. During the summers of 2013 and 2016 I spent time volunteering as an OT in a spinal cord injury unit in Bangladesh. I joined the American Hospital Dubai in November 2018 as an Occupational Therapist; whilst also undertaking my Master’s degree in Public Health, with a focus on rehabilitation services. I have a broad range of experiences from acute hospital, outpatients and hospice settings as well as rehabilitation centres. My career has enabled me to work with a variety of ages, conditions and cultural backgrounds.
