While you are a patient at the American Hospital Dubai we want you to feel as comfortable as possible.

When you complete your admission interview, if you had not been previously registered, you will be assigned a permanent patient identification number which will be used every time you are a patient at the American Hospital Dubai.You will also receive an identification bracelet that must be worn during your entire hospital stay.

You will need only essentials such as toiletries and sleeping apparel in your room. The hospital is not responsible for money or personal belongings, so please leave credit cards, jewelry, mobile phones, phone chargers, laptops and other valuables at home. Money and valuables not sent home, should be deposited at he hospital’s vault for safekeeping.

Patient Orientation
Your nurse will want to make you as comfortable as possible in your new setting. All our patient rooms are private which will add to your comfort. Your nurse will complete an admission assessment and review the orders given by your physician. During the nursing interview, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate fully in the proposed plan of care as outlined in your Patient Rights.

Your right to privacy, individuality, and cultural identity as it relates to social, religious, and psychological well being will be given every consideration during your hospital stay.

If you bring medications from home, you will be asked to have them taken home or your nurse will ensure they are delivered to the pharmacy for safekeeping. Only medications prescribed by your physician during hospital stay may be taken.

Your physician will give the staff orders for your tests, diet, and other instructions that will be followed by your nursing unit team.

If you wear dentures, please ask for a denture container. Dentures wrapped in tissue and left on tabletops may be dropped or discarded accidentally.
