MATERNITY PACKAGES FROM JANUARY 2008

Normal Delivery Package - with 2 days stay - (Community Physicians): Dhs 6,500

The following are covered under the Package:

1. Delivery Suite
2. CBC - ( 2 tests )
3. Type and Hold
4. Post Partum Screen - Newborn
5. Routine Medications (Mother & Baby) up to total of Dhs 375
6. Routine Medical Consumables (Mother & Baby) up to a total of Dhs. 750.
7. Post Delivery Room - Mother (2 days)
8. Post Delivery Nursery - Baby (2 days)
9. Pediatrician's Fees ( Post-Delivery Visit & Discharge Visit)
10. First Pediatrician Clinic Visit at one week for Baby
11. Pap Smear - Liquid Based
12. Baby's blood group
13. Audiogram

1. Post Delivery Nursery - Baby (2 days)
2. Post Partum Screen - Newborn
3. Baby's blood group
4. Pediatrician's Fees (Post Delivery Visit and Discharge Visit)
5. First Pediatrician Clinic Visit at one week for Baby
6. Audiogram

1. If you deliver before 11:00 p.m. that is included as the first night.
2. There will be an extra charge of Dhs.900 if the Pediatrician attends the delivery.
3. In the unfortunate circumstances where the Pediatrician has to perform any resuscitation of the baby at delivery, there will be an extra charge.
4. The Package does not include Epidural Anesthesia for which the fee is Dhs. 3,000.
5. The Package does not include Circumcision, for which the Hospital's fee is Dhs. 1,700.
6. The Package does not include Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) charges for the baby, any extra resuscitation required for the baby, or extra tests that may need to be performed.
7. If the husband or a relative stays overnight in the patient's room, there is a charge of Dhs. 125 per day for the stay, and extra charges for any meals ordered.

• Any test, procedure, visit, medication or consumables other than the ones mentioned above, will be charged for separately.
• Epidural Anesthesia not included.
• Any additional tests, medications or stay due to complications will be charge for separately.

General Comments

1. If there is a switch from a Normal delivery to C-Section delivery, the C-Section Delivery package will be charged.
2. If a patient stays for only 1 day, a credit of Dhs. 1,050 will be given for Room and Nursery.
3. If a patient stays for more for than 2 days, the charges will be at normal rates thereafter.
4. The routine Post Partum Screen for the newborn only includes screening for Phenylketonuria, Thyroid Disease and Galactosemia.
5. Community Obstetricians may charge their Delivery Fees and Rounding Fees directly to the patient and collect them directly. Alternatively, they can charge these Fees through the Hospital which will be in addition to the Package.
