1. Chemotherapy Certification workshop: The Purpose of this course is to develop the knowledge and skills of qualified nurses in the administration and safety aspects of chemotherapy administration
2. Monthly cancer talks and in-service sessions for all oncology team

Tumor Board Meetings

A tumor board is an approach to treatment planning. Tumor board meetings are conducted monthly at the AHD.
 
During tumor board meetings, the facts about several cancer patients and his or her cancer would be presented, followed by presentations by members of the diagnostic radiology, pathology, lab medicine, surgery, and oncology teams. The ultimate goal of such types of multidisciplinary meetings is to find the best possible comprehensive treatment plan for our cancer patients.


Different activities conducted at the AHD Cancer Care Center during the month of October 2010:

1. Cancer talk by Dr. Maroun El Khoury for employees of the Raffles Hotel.
2. Series of in-service sessions for all women in UAE about Breast cancer and breast cancer survivorship
3. Breast Cancer talk by Zeina Kassem, Oncology Clinic Manager at the EIAST (Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology) for all women employees.
4. Attending Scientific Program of the UAE Cancer Congress on 28th, 29th and 30th October at the Intercontinental Hotel Dubai Festival City.
5. Booth presentation of the AHD services at the UAE Cancer Congress 28th, 29th and 30th October at the Intercontinental Hotel Dubai Festival City.
6. Involvement in the Safe and Sound Pink Walkathon 2010 on November 5th, 2010.
